Hi all, I’ve finished all my f papers and was planning on going for the OBU degree first before i start on the P level papers. however, I’ve been strongly advised to do P3 before i embark on my RAP.

In saying that i have no clue where to start from at all.

what do you guys think? what are my chances of successfully completing this project for Nov submission without P3.

    Please advise
    many thanks.

@frank – I haven’t answered this previously as I was hoping another student could answer it as in most respects they are better placed than I am to know. I assume that you are considering doing Topic 8 and are referring to the models (usually SWOT, PESTLE & Porter’ s 5 forces) ? Maybe P3 does help in this respect but as I am not involved on the exam side I can’t remember if there is anything else in P3 that may be particularly relevant – otherwise you could research and study the models on their own before attempting T8.

For T17 and T20 I do recommend that studying P1 beforehand is a good idea or at least having access to a study manual particularly for T17 as it sets out the City Code, knowledge of which is vital for P’l7.

Well, if u have studied SWOT and PEST and/or similar models, e.g in A levels, then u should definitely start IMMEDIATLY and if you have not studied them ever before then giving P3 will make researching for the RAP a whole lot easier!

    There are 2 parts:
Financial Analysis for which i used Ratio analysis (+Trends)
Business Analysis for which i used SWOT + PEST

    Its actually the word count!
Let me clear it, if we use too many ,models we will surpass the word limit however if we use a few models but research and write worth and good content, thats a PASS

@SalahUddin Thanks for your contribution 🙂 (hope your exams went well by the way)

Regarding the word count – if there is s problem my tip is to try to trim Part 1 as that is a fairly routine section. Although it is nice to say why you chose your topic etc – little or no credit will be given for this in the grade as it doesn’t demonstrate any real skills. Another area that can be made briefer is the sources of information used – a general list will do unless there is some exceptional source that needs special explanation. (Proof of how good and relevant the sources used really were will actually be self-evident if the evaluation is good so wasting words trying to justify them in Part 2 tends to be pointless!)

Two good models are normally enough and you sort of said it yourself – it is the good application of models that matters – 3 models that are poorly applied and evaluated are not much use! But of course 2 well applied in terms of linking well with the financial analysis are going to help get a good grade 🙂

    On a completely different topic,

I have not received my transcript, only received my Certificate.
Could you know of any reason ?
Can you guide me on what i should do to get my Transcript?

@SalahUddin – Admin matters are not my forte and to be honest I am not exactly sure what a ‘transcript’ is however I found this on the OBU website that relates to transcripts so maybe this may answer your query

    https://business.brookes.ac.uk/undergraduate/2014/acca/

( if you go into the OBU FAQs on their website there is something there that talks about transcripts). If this isn’t the answer then I suggest you contact OBU direct – should be a good time as they are not dealing with submissions or problems relating to results yet, so you should get a prompt answer.

    Regards

    Trephena
