Hello,
Unfortunately I failed my F8 exam in June with 31 marks. I will be re-sitting this exam in December but don’t really want to pay for additional materials. I previously used the LSBF study package with the online lectures so I still have my study guide and revision kit from earlier this year. My plan is to use all of the materials available on Open Tuition and keep my LSBF books as a back up. I may purchase a new revision kit later as the exam format has changed.
Do you think this will be sufficient? Any advice on previous experiences or study plans would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I failed this paper dec sitting with 47% and passed June with 59%.
My advice to you is to listen to the lectures here on OT, read all the technical articles and practice all the question in the revision kit. I also listened to Mike’s P7 lectures as its mainly revision of the F8 but more lively (you are less likely to fall asleep).
If you are intent on buying new materials i would suggest a i-pass CD from bpp. this is a question bank with questions in the format that acca is now testing.
but key to passing any acca paper is practice with more practice the better you understand what is required. no matter how much study material you have or other resources once you dont cover and practice all the areas there is no way you an pass.
Also for audit you need to ensure you understand and can answer your questions in audit language. the technical articles are there to guide you. i believe if i had read and followed the guides there it would have been one of the papers i passed on first sitting as i was more comfortable and was sure i passed on the first sitting, but i didnt use the correct phrasing.
