I have only used bpp, the kaplan books looks way bigger and daunting plus what little i did see from other students is that it has errors in calculation and typos. however persons have recommended Kaplan as they say its easier to understand.
Kaplan books are bery big, but they only have a couple of lines text in each page. (I personally think it is horrible waste of paper, and also makes it impossible to carry your books with you.)
For me, BPP is more like a text book, and Kaplan is extended version of study notes. If you like reading and getting the background explanation, BPP is for you. If you prefer having short easy sentences, Kaplan is for you.
there is a lot of “extra” info in bpp texts. and examples are long winded.
kaplan is very to the point and does not miss much as far as the syllabus is concerned. for example, in ma2, in bpp text there was no mention of hi lo method. i only found about it 3 days 4 days before my exam when i took the mock given by the exam center. and then i bought kaplan to study it.
bpp kits are much simpler than kaplan. i have scored hi in bpp kits/mocks and scored a bit low on the actual exam.
kaplan was different … i scored lo on kits/mocks but scored hi in exam.
yes..kaplan tet books are bigger.. but i do feel that they provide ample space for notes etc.i hated kaplan when i took f1 last month but i got an 88
