Hi,
i was trying extra question on acca web and i am unable to get how to get this figure” 24340″ payment acquire for non current asset . plese could you help me out how to solve cash flows from investing activities part in this question ?
https://specimen.iassess.com/Assignments/F3_MTQ/ACCA.html
The book value of non-current assets at the start of the year was 26574.
During the year there was deprecation of 4658, which would reduce the book value.
Also during the year as asset was sold, and so the book value would reduce by the carrying value (book value) of 1974.
So….these two would reduce the book value to 26574 – 4658 – 1974 = 19942.
However the book value at the end of the year is 44282, so the difference must be the cost of acquisitions during the year.
So the acquisitions were 44282 – 19942 = 24340.
