    Hi guys ,
I’m studying F5-ACCA . After complete 14 papers , I will get the Bachelor Degree of Accounting-ACCA from Oxford , Then I want to apply to Master of Accounting in Usa . But some people says I need to complete 4 years at university . ACCA is good but its not qualify to apply to Master or get a job in Usa . I’m so confused with the info because I think ACCA s not a certificate like before . It is bachelor degree . Anyone know about this . Thank you for the supporting !

ACCA is not a bachelor’s degree and completing 14papers wont get you one. Read more about ACCA from the website http://www.accaglobal.com

What Ali said is correct. ACCA is not a university to award degrees, be it bachelor or Masters. ACCA is a professional accountancy body that admit members to its body through training and examinations.

However many universities and educational instituitions in the world recognizes professional qualifications such as ACCA as entry requirements to thier masters/PHD programmes. It could be possible certain USA unviersities recognizes ACCA as equivalent to thier entry requirements.

For Eg. CMA (an American management accountancy programme)recognized ACCA as thier entry requirement for this programme, where they consider ACCA as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree, the minimum entry requirement for the programme.

However always I wonder how ACCA , or for that matter other professional accountancy programmes are only equivalent to a bachelors or masters degree. In my opinion professional qualifications have higher standards and wieghtage than university degrees, as gaining a professional degree is much more difficult than gaining a university degree. May be educationalist will not agree with me and may argue with reasons, but if you look at the job market, a requirement for CFO by any company would insist for a prfoessional qualification like ACCA and equivalent professional accountancy qualification, where a masters in finance or accountancy is not considered as equivalent.

I would have liked to have the theory of this phenomenon!!

Hi Sathjyot , you are right . But I just get some info about the Bsc ( Hons) . They said To be awarded the BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting we must
be registered with Oxford Brookes University ie have opted in to the BSc degree scheme and hold a suitable English language qualification before passing any of the three ACCA Fundamentals papers, F7, F8 and F9 successfully complete all nine Fundamentals level papers
complete the ACCA Professional Ethics module complete and pass the Oxford Brookes University Research and Analysis Project
To submit the Research and Analysis Project in the May and November submission periods, refer to RAP submission dates. The degree must be completed within 10 years of your initial registration onto ACCA’s professional qualification.
It meant we still have chance to get the bachelor from Oxford university and qualify to do Master .

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!!! (laughing)

I wonder what was the question and where we ended!!!!!!!!

It was all about BSc oxford honors degree!

I think there is learning potential for our ACCA exams here!

Always answer the question asked and not what you know about it, if the question is not clear give your assumptions before answering.

Also we have to be very clear about what we are trying to convey to the examiner as an answer to a question asked, which would make the examiner’s life easier and we would gain proper credits.

Thank you for reminding me of this lesson!

Hi Ha, did you tried the OBU Oxford Degree? If not, I think you should try it because a friend of mine got through doing his Masters in New York. The opportunity is greater with the OBU Degree which is credited internationally.
