The BPP text Im reading suggest that I use a pen and ruler for drawing decision trees and I find this unusual. Is it permissible to use a pen for drawing?

You have to use a black pen in the exam.
You are not allowed to use pencil.

Use pencil to draw your graphs (and labels), then once you’re happy with your workings you can just draw over the graph with a (black) pen.

Therefore there’s no need to cross out your work if you make mistakes. And your work will look more neat and easier for the marker to mark!

I dont think there is so much time in the paper that first you draw with pencil, then you trace it with a black pen!!

Drawing over the pencil lines with a black pen is sensible and it really should not take more than a couple of seconds just to ink in the pencil lines 🙂
