Sir, I would like to know why the green certificates are not under ias 38 . Isn’t it an intangible asset? Why the answer treat it under ias 20 government grant??
Hi, no, the certificates are not held for the long term to be used in the future generation of benefits. They are an income related government grant and are available for immediate sale. They clearly do not satisfy the criteria to be classed as a long term intangible asset
The simple answer to your question is “No, they are not intangible assets” and in answer to your query “Why does the answer treat them as government grants?” can be found simply enough by reading the examiner’s own answer in the printed solution
OK?
Ok! Thank you sir!
