    Hello,

I have had absolutely no help from my college regarding this.

If any student wanted to become a registered auditor, i understand that they must sit the UK variants of the P2 and P7 papers.

The particular college I attend, a very well known college I might add, does not offer a UK variant of either of these papers.

Would you be able to clarify whether this is the case with all colleges? Do I need to find a college which does offer the particular variants?

I would really appreciate if you could advise on this.

    Many thanks,
    Anuj

Anuj, my understanding is that the UK variants are the ones to choose if you want a UK practising certificate. The ACCA announced this year that they are dropping the UK and Irish variants for F7 and F8. It can only be a matter of time before the Uk and Irish variants disappear fron P2 and P7.

If you compare recent examinations in those two papers, you’ll find very little difference so, with the passage of not much time, it’s likely going to be the case that an international variant will be sufficient for a UK practising certificate.

    But how much time?

This may be a matter about which to consult the ACCA themselves and see what response they come up with

Sorry not to be more helpful 🙁

you could do the p2 int variant course at your college but enter yourself for the p2 uk variant exam, both exams are basically the same from what i gather. just buy a text book and look over the uk stuff in the text book

And the International revision kit has just 8 or 10 “alternative” solutions to past exam questions where the international answers are adapted to suit UK GAAP

Are you hoping to practise as an auditor / accountant in the UK?

    If yes, go for UK

    If no, go for International
