Why is everyone so crazy about getting samples? What are you expecting to understand that you don’t already? Any sample you get is probably going to be very low quality anyway. Do you think someone who got an ‘A’ would risk getting their degree and maybe their ACCA membership taken away by putting their work online for free?!
So you get a sample, you adjust it and use your own data and company etc and then probably replicate all their errors. What do you end up with? A low quality RAP that’s not your own and that you’ll probably fail with. Then you’ve wasted 6 months, have to resit and might even get pulled up for plagiarism…
The other hilarious thing you see is people trying to outsource their RAP’s. Again, what kind of report do you expect to get back?!
What kind of an accountant does these kinds of things? Do you copy all your accounts at work? Do you ask to see last years accounts and then just update the figures without using your brains?
February 12, 2014 at 9:35 am #158364Hello,
I think the reason people are requesting a sample is to obtain some guidance to the overall structure of the report rather than with a view to blindly copying the content.
I’m not sure whether putting a report online for free or otherwise would jeopardise ACCA membership.
February 12, 2014 at 10:55 am #158375There is loads of guidance, the information pack for one has everything needed. Then there are example report layouts etc all provided from OBU. Maybe people are over thinking things. It’s really just a case of following the recipe that’s already laid out.
March 27, 2014 at 7:24 pm #163397OMG! What a lot of scavengers! There are exemplars on the OBU website and if you can’t follow the guidelines, examine the exemplars and do your own work and pass on your own merits (even if it takes 3 attempts) then you don’t deserve to pass at all. Anyone who sends you stuff is risking a disciplinary hearing from ACCA if their work is plagiarised by any of you. Read the post from Totem who is a moderator from OBU. Universities now have electronic systems in place to identify similarities in students’ work and the university says markers have been trained to spot irregularities in submissions. So if you think you can just reword someone else’s RAP you may be in for an unpleasant surprise. Just reading through the forum, more and more students have had their results withheld as the ACO is analysing them, so it is obvious that OBU’s systems are working and they are detecting suspicious work. If you want to wreck your career then copy and if you want someone you have never met wreck yours, then just send them your work, but you may live to regret it! If it takes 3 attempts to pass, so what? at least you will deserve to pass but if you think that you can get a degree by adapting some else’s work then you deserve to be banned by OBU and ACCA for cheating.
