Hello everyone, when should I buy my text book and revision kit for June 2014 exams? I’m going to take F5, F6 and F7 and I think it will be either from BPP or Kaplan. How often do they update the textbooks? Currently for paper F7 BPP, I see study text that says up to June 2014 exams are for sale. What should I do to get books that are valid up to Dec 2014? And exactly how often do BPP and Kaplan update their textbooks, revision kit….etc?
December 21, 2013 at 8:37 pm #153325Yes, you’re right, all the BPP books are valid up till Jun 14 and they were released just after the Dec 12 exams so were valid for 3 sittings. If you want BPP books for Dec 14, you’ll need to wait for the next edition which I imagine (only guessing from when they released the current books) will be just after the June 14 exams.
If you want to start working towards the Dec exams earlier you might want to do a bit of research into which exams don’t have much change in syllabus from one year to the next, and just use the current texts.
December 22, 2013 at 9:55 am #153330The text books are valid until June 2014. You cant buy books valid till Dec 2014. These will be only available after the June 2014 sitting.
December 22, 2013 at 10:44 am #153331So BPP won’t update the books and kits until after June 2014 exams? Thanks both of you for your useful information 🙂
I think it’s uinfair though for students that will be sitting for june 2014 exams as if they make an unsuccessful attempt at one paper, they’ll have to buy new text book for dec 2014 exams :p
December 22, 2013 at 8:31 pm #153342Hello Tyler,
“Please note that for papers F4 to P7 (except F6 and P6) we have extended the exam year to include June 2014.”This means that the Syllabus examined in June and December 2013 will be examined again for the June 2014 sitting.
There are NO changes in the Syllabus with the exception of F6 and P6.
This also means that the Study Text which are valid for the June and December 2013 sittings can be used to sit the June 2014 exam. This applies to ALL publishers.ACCA used to have December as being the 1ST sitting for the NEW and UPDATED Syllabus.
ACCA then changed it to the Calendar Year by having June as being the 1st sitting for the NEW and UPDATED Syllabus. ACCA has NOW reverted to December as being the 1st sitting of NEW and UPDATED Syllabus with the exception of F6 and P6.This means that from July 2014 new Study Texts will become available to purchase for December 2014 exams and June 2015 exams.
This is also the reason why you have ONLY seen the Study Text as being valid for ONLY June 2014 and NOT December 2014.July 12, 2014 at 6:40 pm #178748Does anyone know when BPP study textbook and revision kit for December 2014 will be available?
November 2, 2015 at 4:18 pm #280106Sir is it release to use BPP 2013 editions for f1 f2 f3 for 2016 exams
November 2, 2015 at 5:07 pm #280115No – there have been changes since 2013!
You will be better getting new books (although if you are watching our free lectures, then it is really only the Revision Kit that you need to buy).
