Hello, everyone. I want to ask about FIA and CAT.
What are the paper or subject of FIA? What’s the difference between FIA and CAT?
If I failed the optional Paper (FFM, FTX or FAU), can I still proceed to ACCA level?

CAT is part of the FIA set of exams.
You get diplomas at each level, and the last set of exams give the CAT qualification.
You can proceed to the ACCA Qualification exams without having pass all the exams for CAT, but you will only be exempt from the first three ACCA exams if you have the CAT qualification, which means having passed the optional papers.

Peggy: You should take Optional FFM/FTX or FAU only if you do NOT want to do ACCA, but CAT..
SO if you passed FAB/FFA/FMA go straight to ACCA

But when i inquire about this to my institute, the staff there said that only applicable internationally, for our country (Malaysia) i will had to take the specialist papers to proceed to ACCA. Is there such a rule or law?

How many papers are there to be passed to get in Acca? I was told that students must pass three papers of diploma through Fia in order to get transferred onto the Acca qualification . Unlikely, my transfer has not taken place yet ; I did write an e-mail to Acca about my case ,one of their representative said that there are total seven papers to be attempted in Fia before going onto Acca . My three papers fAB ,FMA and FFA got cleared and I want to go direct to Acca
