Is it not allowed to memorise model answers and produce them in the exam?
“When reviewing past papers, don’t memorise model answers in the hope of using them in the exam. As every paper is different, repeating old answers can never be appropriate – and markers will quickly spot when they are being used.”
I just read this on ACCA website:
i am in panic because for my F4 exam due next month, much of the material that I have memorized came from those model answers, because I thought they were easier to remember.

November 26, 2013 at 6:31 am #147828As far as F4 paper is concerned, since it is mostly a theoretical paper, there cannot be many answers to a typical question, say , “Define common law”. Although It would always score higher marks if you write this in your own wordings and even if you write the text book stuff or the one you read it in the past paper will not deny you credit/marks. The context in which ACCA was referring to I believe is, not answering the question asked instead writing what you have memorised, which might not have a connection to the question scenario.
rote learning is highly dangerous when you advance to higher levels of ACCA exams, as you will simply find it defeating yourself.Good luck
