hi guys, just wondering, I’ve just tried out qn 2 Dec 2010 and realised i worked out my rights issue wrong towards the end of the question. subsquently this has affected my figures in the stat. of comp income and the SOCIETY as well as the equity section of the SOFP.
my question is how would you resolve this in the real exam, do you go back sort the rights issue out and cross out all affected figures in you statements, ( more time taken) or do you write a note say at the top of your answer to notify the marker.( i remember either john or mike mentioning this in one of the lectures).
thanks guys.
November 22, 2013 at 2:13 pm #147394I understand that they mark subsequent parts of a question in relation to the figures you gave at the beginning. So if you make a mistake early on, which effects later figures, you’ll only lost a mark once.
Therefore, if it were me, I’d write a note to begin with like you suggested, finish the other questions, and if I’ve got time, rewrite it with the correct figures at the end.
