November 4, 2013 at 1:57 pm #144524Hi Justine:
I’m just going to list down what I did, and hopefully there is a tip or two in there that will help you:
1. Opentuition lectures multiple times for topics that were confusing. For me, that was swaps. I listened to those, and solved the mini questions till I understood.
2. I went through the textbook atleast twice, because the concepts are complex and easily forgotten.
3. Do the kit thoroughly. You should know why each step is being done in the question. If you dont understand something, utilise the “Ask the Tutor” forums to the max. These are the little things that will help you in tricky areas in the exam.
4. SA articles. I think I probably read all of them, even the really old ones. Just so I was certain there was nothing I missed,
5. Realise that its not a purely calculation based paper. There is quite a bit of written requirement to it. Dont undermine the importance of theory bits, alright?
6. Last, but not the least….time management. Allocate time according to marks. If you havent finished a question in the given time limit, drop it and move on. You are losing easy marks in the next question.
All the best!
