Can someone advise me approximately how many words should I write on analysing 1 ratio (e.g net profit margin) and how many on SWOT analysis?

Hi! Can anyone help me pls? I will submit my RAP next Tues. Still not sure how to count the words. Question: I use tables and graphs for my ratio analysis. However, below the tables and graphs (outside the table) I used referencing also. Such as” Figure 1.1 Gross Profit Margin for 2011…Source: Appendix A.” Will these be included in word count. Since OBU only mention the words in tables and graphs not counted. But these are outside the tables… Very confusing. Can anyone help me?! Urgent!!! Thanks ahead.
(: Thats very smart of you smoke. because 6500 words are too short length and then marker comment “your have not applied swot and pestel” how on earth a person can write more about swot and pester even when he has knowldge when word count is going out of hand.

what if I use 3 models: ratio analysis, SWOT and PESTEL? what could be the word distribution in that case?can you also comment if the word distribution in my own report ok? my word distribution is as follows:
Ratio analysis = 2200
SWOT = 1300
PESTEL = 700@Kingman
Ratio analysis = 2800
PESTEL = 600
SWOT = 600Although you can change them little bit but not by more than 300 words. Business analysis owns less weight-age than Financial.

I have read the latest guidance in the 2013 – 2014 guidance pack for the BSc RAP but still have a query.
The word count has been changed to 7500 and now includes everything from start to finish. To clarify does this include say… the axis on a graph?
If i was to include every piece of readable information including axis labels and data labels this would be a total of 32 “words” for the graph i’m looking at. If i were being kind its only say 10 words as i’m excluding the axis and data labels.
This 22 word difference may seem trivial but multiplied over say 10 graphs we have a variance of ~220 words! And I wouldn’t like my project rejected because of something so trivial as a word count.
I’ve emailed acca@brookes.ac.uk but I was wondering if anybody from submission period 27 had this issue?

MartinLast submission was the transition period so may not count. The word count is the count shown by Word at the bottom. Obviously if you tried to put a picture in that is wordy – you will get penalized.
The price is that they will stop reading after the word count reaches 7,500 (upper limit)
Word count do not include graphs and axis words. If you carefully read BSc info pack, it states that tables will be counted along with texts. So, graphs will not be counted. However, leaving 100 words for comfirt is always a better option.

In terms of your example, if the graph is fully embedded in a Word document you may find that Word counts everything including the numbers. However if embedded as a picture you should allow 10 words, as you have identified, towards your total number of words.”So they will not be including graph axis and data labels on plot points are not included. That’s an extra hundred words to play with 🙂
Can I use a table as a picture format in my research report to save some words?
‘To save words’….. well technically no! Although you nay get away with using an image for the odd small table the markers are wised up to this. If you abuse this and have more than one or two they will rumble you and estimate the number of words involved and add them back on (I know as I was a former marker – we are not entirely stupid – we have been in the game long enough to know every trick in the book when it is staring us in the face!)
It is far better to remove all of the unnecessary commentary in Part 1 – Don’t waste 1,000 words on that section – about 600 is more than enough!
