Hi
Thanks for your previous replies helped me a lot. some more question what if share price of company represent whole group, e.g. British airways share price is shown in group called as IAG how can I compare it with competitor I do not know the proportion of price division.
Secondly, Why some big companies do not want to list on stock exchange.
Waiting for reply.ThanksRegards
Sana.October 26, 2013 at 3:23 am #143719You cannot compare the group price with a standalone company unless you have separate share price for company.
Listing is not mandatory, they might be because of heavy laws and regulations and recent strict compliance burden with Code of Corporate Governance (UK) and Sarbanes Oxley Act (USA). Further, there are also separate implications for tax purpose on listed and unlisted company. Securities and exchange commission and stock exchanges regulates listed company heavily, so they may not want to get in to the detailed documentations etc. Also, they may not need public and equity finance and don’t want to dilute their ownership structure.
Thank You.
