Dear sir, thank you for the wonderful lectures. I love the way you elaborate things and make them easy to understand. I’m addicted to listening to your lectures. Please note that I was looking at the Kaplan study text for F4. Some things are there that you have not discussed in your lectures like the contents of the articles of association in company formation. There are cases in the book related to that as well.

I want to ask whether those are important for the preparation or should I just rely on your lectures and notes?

As someone who just passed F4, i suggest that you use either the study text or get a good revision kit as the lectures does not cover all the relevant information. Like you I love listening to Mike’s lecture as a result i was very confident that have a full understanding of what was expected in the exams, however, i came out of the dec exams with a 47.

Don’t get me wrong the lectures are great but they are not a replacement. The lectures as well as the flash cards (btw set 1 of the global variant has a list of most the cases) helped a great deal but a good revision kit (ALL the questions) is the best way to go, as well as the articles on the website. I came out of the June exams thinking i failed as i was sick that whole week and almost came out of the exams without completing but the results was 64%.

    good luck with your exams!

Hi – I agree with Latoyah although I’m still not convinced that you need a study text to learn from. By all means acquire one and use it to check on any areas where you feel particularly weak but it is ESSENTIAL that you work through and understand the past exam questions. The F4 examiner is pretty limited in the scope of questions available to be asked, so getting to grips with those questions in a revision kit is a really good step towards success in the exam

Thanks a lot sir I will surely practice through the past papers and based on your previous advice, will elaborate the bullet points in the notes which I think is easy to do if your understanding of the topic is good. It should be supported with a relevant case or two. I do check the book for anything that I didn’t catch correctly from your lectures and also for the cases that you suggest to look at. What bothered me were these little things like contents of AOA, upon looking at the past papers I found there wasn’t much asked or answered regarding that just a mention of it being a plc document and it forms part of constitution.

Hi latoyah, congratulations for passing F4 and thanks for the advice. 64% is really good! I find it very helpful when those who already have attempted tell about their experience. I also am feeling kinda good after the lectures but based on your advice will surely watch out for any anything that makes me overconfident. I’ll do the revision kit and refer to the book for anything that’s not understandable. Practice is the key as always 🙂 good luck to you too!

Ok, I thought that articles were adequately covered in lectures – the binding force and the alterability. There really isn’t anything else he could ask about articles

I think pretty well the only major omissions from lectures are employment law and agency. Both are frequent visitors to the F4 exam but both are quite straight-forward topics and I feel no guilt about asking / expecting students to do at least some work on their own

Post again if you come across something which requires explanation
