Portfolio Investment is accounted for at fair value. Income and increase / decrease in market value are recorded in the p & l. If a company has a private portfolio investment allocated for its funds and the company withdraws and deposit in the portfolio investment. Are the deposits and withdrawals recorded through the financial account (Current asset) and the bank account (Current asset). Does the varies sale of investments produce a capital gain or capital loss?

Wow! What are you talking about? This is (I believe) WAY beyond my cogniscence! Is it in the P2 syllabus?

Sorry Mick but I decline to even begin to think what the correct answer is and I don’t honestly see anything like this coming up in P2

Of course …. I could be wrong 🙁

I understand. Is there a website to understand the mechanisms of portfolio investments or a book, etc.?

    Thank you.

I misunderstood the concept of portfolio investment and tried to understand certain mechanisms.

I tried to search on google but without success.
