It really depends on the situation, plus your own determination. It involves a LOT of theories and I’m depending on my lecturer’s notes myself. Was blessed with an awesome lecturer. =)
Plus, If you’re working, taking all 3 together is gonna be really tough.August 14, 2013 at 2:11 pm #138031AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

I have done from F6 to P1 self-study and passed them all, I think I got around 80% for F8, so it can be done.
I have only have ever done a maximum of 2 at a time because I would rather devote more time to fewer exams and pass first time, than spread myself to thin and fail, and then end up spending more time overall becauseof re-takes, but thats just my personal preference, many others take and pass more than 2 at a time.
It really comes down to your self-motivation, aptitude and the amount of time you can dedicate. It can get a bit lonely and boring self studying on your own, I found the OT study group chats to be helpful with F8.

will self study work for F8???Is it fine taking all the 3 tgthr f7,F8,F9???help me….Self study works for any exams, but the question you need to answer is, does self study work for you?
Self study gives you the freedom to vary the days, times & topics that you’re studying, to suit you. But you need to be quite disciplined so that you do actually study. It can be isolated, but then you’ve got forums such as this one to engage with other people and/or ask questions about something you might be struggling with.
The main disadvantage of self study, for me anyway, is with more written exams. With written questions it’s far more difficult to compare your answer to the model answer, than it is with computations. So in that respect, having a tutor to review your efforts would be beneficial.
All in all, I far prefer self studying.
Best of luck with whatever you decide.
August 14, 2013 at 9:09 pm #138086Self studying as many people are saying requires a great deal of discipline on your part such that you can stick to your reading programme. Getting a tutor does not guarantee you that what he says is going to stick in your head, you have to go home and study yourself.
On top of that ACCA does not play hide and seek, they recommend reading material for you, past exam papers with tips and common pitfalls faced by students are clearly explained.
I have been studying on my own from F1 to P1 now I am taking P2 and P3. Studying on your own actually gives you the freedom to understand the module the way you want it and in your own words which is very helpful to your own understanding
Best of luck in your studies
