It was the most horrible paper in my whole acca history. :X
Im a straight passer with all papers attempted in one sitting but this paper just threw me off completely.
Does anyone else feel it was a disaster, or is it just me?June 4, 2013 at 2:50 pm #128897What was the market rate of return in q1?
June 4, 2013 at 2:53 pm #128902Q2 Was Mergers and Acquisition. Calculation of post-merger company value based on adjusted (lowered) combined PE and individual company MVs + Synergy benefits and value of intangibles (CIV) as well as assessing different forms of takeover finance ( cash, shares, bond) and calculating premium received by target shareholders as percentage of pre acquisition share price.
coolbreeze and everyone else, I feel this was a disaster as well.. I was prepared and knew 97% of the paper but was only able to attempt 80-85% … not sure if i’m passing 🙁

Examiner need to be little lenient in marking now otherwise all will go to drain.June 4, 2013 at 2:54 pm #128904Completely flopped. I feel terrible and stupid.

No in the end I just multiplied the cost of equity by value of equity over value of equity + debt and got 9% which I know is wrong but needed something to continue with the question!
