Hey guys
I am 29 years old and I was 5 years in IT but I have decided to change career over to accountancy.
I am looking to go into the ACCA path as I wish to progress into financial accounting.
Can someone advise me what is the best way to get into ACCA/Accountancy?
Should I register for ACCA and simply start the studies? do I apply for a training contract?
I have a 2:2 in the computer science discipline.many thanks for any advice guys
March 5, 2013 at 6:23 pm #119306hey you can register with ACCA and start studies mean while start looking for work experience in Accounts role. I believe since you are in computer you think logicaly and hence passing ACCA should not be difficult. I have seen many friends coming from Science background and doing well with ACCA. however passing 14 papers may need some motivation.
Hey at different note I need your advice about studing IT, what do you suggest for Accounts background who wants to do IT, as i believe IT guys are really paid well. i want to study something which helps me enter into the field where i can use Accountancy and IT knowledge. some thing like business analysist/IT.

July 10, 2013 at 4:06 am #133652Well, changing a career can be quite difficult because before you were thinking as an IT student and now you have to think according to the commerce field. If I were at this place then I would ave never changed this. There are many other fields in IT where you can do your best and get paid well. You can go for further courses like internet security, etc. But still if you are confused then you should take advice from a career expert.
There are many institutions where you can get the right advice and your further problems about ACCA could also be resolved there.
