Hi,
I received an exemption for the F5 exam and am planning on sitting P5 in the June 2013 exam diet along with P3. I read from the forums that P3 and P5 complement each other quite well however, my question is how much F5 knowledge would I need in preparing for P5. Would you suggest purchasing the F5 text and working through that?
Thanks in advance
February 18, 2013 at 5:41 pm #118170Actually, you probably need F5 as much for P3 as for P5. However, on balance I don’t think it worth your while reading through an F5 text. The P level questions are rather different and I think you will pick any techniques up OK without lots of F5 study.
April 15, 2013 at 9:39 am #122527how about activity based costing area,,your lectures doesnt exist for this area in p5.how should i revise that area please tell.
April 15, 2013 at 12:31 pm #122539You will find ABC in F5 lectures. Our P5 does not aim to repeat our F5 material as that is assumed knowledge (whether you are exempt or not).
April 15, 2013 at 4:31 pm #122548I have seen that question style of new examiner is very different (since december 2010) the question style and the things been asked are different from the old examiner,i am planning to only go through past papers from dec 2010 to dec 2012.Due to above reason.Would it be sufficient?AM i following right approach as i think Exam kit has not ammended question requirements to make them in line with new style.
April 16, 2013 at 8:08 am #122612What’s asked depends on the syllabus and examiners have to cover the syllabus. Although the new examiner might have tried to cut down big numerical questions, this is not consistent and I certainly don’t think the change in style is major enough to make earlier questions irrelevant. If you look at Dec 2012 – Dec 2012 exams only, that would be insufficient question practice, I think.
Remember, in June, Q1 will be a compulsory 25 mark question (broken down into several parts). Then you will have a choice of 2 from 3 25 mark questions.
