I used BPP for F5 with OT lectures of course. Generally speaking the opinion about BPP is that it provides detailed background and understanding on particular subject… which i personally liked as a self study person. I must admit that some subjects were difficult to learn (understand) just from BPP (longish background, many diffrent examples – techniques when you will use only 1 at the exam etc.).

I have seen opinions that Kaplan books are going straight to the point giving you only what you need to know to pass the exam. Never used Kaplan tough so can’t tell really.

I’m using BPP with ATC (Becker) and I must admit that BPP study text is way too detailed on some questions. ATC text and answers are more concise and more suitable for the exam I think. But if I were using BPP for self-studying I would find it the most useful source.

I think it depend on the level, If you wanna go exam straight points and learn from the basic it self go for kyplan, but if you wanna know with the detail and hard question with different variety of style to learn than go for Bpp. As per me both the Book basically will give a pass if you get the rules ( understanding ) of each topic. BPP is actually good for those people Who wanna score at very high marks in the exam, Just wanna pass, Dhen go for kayplan would be better, I hope this helps. 🙂
