lack of study,
January 21, 2013 at 8:50 pm #114212Good question.
F8 is about analyses and applying controls and responses to a scenario. My theory is that many students just learn rules and do not know how to apply them. F8 questions are completely discursive: in papers that are 50% calculation and 50% discursive, it is shown that students get good marks on calculation rather than for discussion, albeit the discursive part being easier.
F8 is easy for someone who understands why the auditor does what he does, and not simply because he just does it!

inadequate preparation
failure to comprehend requirements of the question
poor academic background, acca is suited to bright students onlyJanuary 23, 2013 at 10:49 am #114280f5, f9 is more of formulae and theory.
f6,f7 is more of accounting
f8 is more of procedures.
procedures depend on the scenario, some procedures we need to memorize, some we need to think of ourselves.
it takes some practice to get good idea of the subject.January 27, 2013 at 11:03 pm #114412F8 paper is very practical & majority of the students dont have any audit firm experience ….
