Hi,
I notice that in the answers given for some NPV questions they round to the nearest $1000, and in others they don’t. Occasionally they specify whether they want you to work to the nearest $1000, but mostly they don’t. If I round mine to the nears $1000 and in the answers they don’t, sometimes there can be a bit of a discrepancy between our answers (assuming I’ve calculated mine correctly of course).
Therefore, my question is, unless it specifically asks, is it ok for me to always round my answers to the nearest $1000 in the exam. Could I lose any marks if they don’t in the official answers? I’d rather round to the nearest $1000 as it’s a lot quicker, and with many columns I find it difficult to squeeze onto one line!
Thanks for your help.
Sensible rounding will not lose marks – I usually do it to the nearest thousand.
