hello sir
i am finding f8 very difficult can u please let me know how to tackle this subject?
do I have to memorize majority stuff as terminology matters in this paper or just understanding would be enough?
also pls let me know how to revise this paper once im done? do i have write the answers for the past ppr again and again to match mine with the mark schemes?
pls help
thanks alotAugust 27, 2015 at 9:28 am #268755Understanding is more important than memorising. Try to understand the purpose of what’s being done.
The model answers are good, but thos questions might not come up again so learning them like a piece of poetry is not the way.
Understand how the model answer addresses the informatin and requirements of the question.

August 31, 2015 at 10:52 am #269269Hi Sir,
I would like to know if the examiner can assess us on case studies, thus I would know if I need to allocate more time on them or not.
Thank you in advance.
October 12, 2015 at 10:36 am #275986hello sir
i am planning to sit for 3 skills papers including f8 this dec…i will be starting my study today and considering what materials i should use…is opentuition lectures & notes and the bpp kit enough to score very high marks lets say around 80’s? is the time available enough…i was going through the F8 bpp study text and i find it too technical and complicated to understandIn terms of answering the qn…the answers are very lengthy in the bpp kits…..theres no way i can answer like that if i just use the opentuition lectures and notes as the notes and lectures seem shallow compared to the study text.
please help me sir on how i can score high marks in this paper and not just an average pass
October 12, 2015 at 5:21 pm #276056@ Marylise: I have no idea what you mean. The exam format is fixed. See past papers.
@mike0943: In my opinion nothing will give you a good chance of 80+ in F8. However, our notes and lectures + BPP revision kit are certainly enough to pass. With respect to the exam answers, both ACCA and BPP provide very comprehensive answers which are simply unattainable in the time available in the exam. The idea is that you can use these answers to learn from.
I’d be happy with an average pass if I were you.
October 12, 2015 at 11:05 pm #276083thank you for your response sir
i would certainly be happy with a pass aswell. the reason i wish to obtain 80’s is because i want to get a an average of 68+ in my papers (f4-f9) so that i can get a first class Bsc in applied accouting. i have not performed very well in my previous papers so wish to compensate the average marks by scoring higher in my remaining papers
please advice on how i can achieve 80’s in this paper
i find the bpp study text too technical and complicated, i just want to rely on opentuition lectures and notes and the bpp kit.October 13, 2015 at 7:27 am #276135I think to get into the 80s you would need to study the BPP book, do lots of practice questions and ideally go on a course if one is available.
Students have obtained very high marks just using our material, but they might have been employed as auditors so have practical experience. I really don’t know. Doing questions and understanding the answers is vital to good performance in this paper.
October 13, 2015 at 11:04 am #276160so it means one cannot attain 80’s using only opentuition lectures and notes. does this mean the opentuition lectures and notes are not covering the ACCA syllabus in the required way and depth?
i know you said somewhere they are a complete course but do they cover each and every bit of the whole of the syllabus from (Part A-E) ie 100% in the required level as per ACCA just like the approved publishers materials or standards so as to be able to understand and answer any question which may come up and obtain full marks?
because the way marks are given is based on how you answer the qn ie in the required depth and quality. but the lectures are and notes are not giving enough depth/standard of knowledge
October 13, 2015 at 5:13 pm #276198I have nothing more to add to what I’ve said already.
