Is the privy Council a type of court? If yes how does it differ to the other types? If no what is the privy Council?
Historically, yes
It used to function as the “High Court of Appeal” for the countries in the British Empire except for the United Kingdom itself but that function has pretty much disappeared
The role of the Privy Council these days is to advise the monarch about matters concerning the monarch’s role in matters of state
The members of the PC are (typically) retired senior politicians from both the House of Lords and the House of Commons
OK?
Understood. Thank you very much Mike
