Hi,
I have been working with an Approved Employer for the last 13 months. Prior to this, I worked in a small practice for 39 months. Can I avail of the PER exemption based on my current employment with an Approved Employer or do you need to complete a full 36 months employment with them?
I have checked online but can’t seem to find a clear guidance on this and due to Covid 19, I can’t ring ACCA.I would appreciate any advice on the above please.

See Q “Can I gain my practical experience from different countries?”
Answer “PER is completely transferable – across organisations, sectors and geographical locations.”April 17, 2020 at 3:31 pm #568615Thank you for your response Kim. I was asking if I would be able to claim exemption due to the fact I am currently working with an approved employer (they have platinum status) or would I need to be with that employer for a full 36 months to claim the exemption.
April 17, 2020 at 3:51 pm #568619See the section FAQs about Approved Employers – you still have to record your progress towards achieving 36 months in a relevant role to claim the exemption.
According to “Leaving your role?” you should have had a supervisor and recorded experience relating to your previous employment.
So in the absence of PER before you started your current employment you will have to work with them 36 months.
(i.e. you can’t claim 36 months of experience with evidence of only 13 months)
April 17, 2020 at 4:03 pm #568620Thank you for clearing that up for me. I partly guessed I would need to complete the record based on the 36 months in my previous practice. I finished writing up the statements for the objectives during the week and they are with my old mentor for review at the moment so I’ve the work done anyway. I just wondered if I was actually exempt. Thanks again.
