I failed twice in FR and I’m preparing to take it for the third time but I’m scared it might happen again. This has greatly affected my confidence when it comes to studying. I procrastinate a lot as a result. Please I need advice on how I can mange my self mentally so that I can get back on track

Prepare for yourself a realistic revision plan for the time you have available – see the last two page of this https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/acca/global/PDF-students/acca/f7/studyguides/3626_FR_study_support_guide.pdf

Plan to incorporate ALL the question practice available to you – refer to FR in the CBE platform for recent past exams, practice exams and the specimen. If there is any exam that you have not previously attempted – use that as your mock exam.

For any OT question you get wrong you should revise the topic if you don’t understand the answer justification (all the resources in the CBE platform should have answer justifications) – if you still don’t understand – Ask the FR Tutor https://opentuition.com/forum/ask-acca-tutor-forums/ask-the-tutor-acca-financial-reporting-fr-exams

Same applies if you are not earning marks on Section C Qs through making errors.

Before tackling any interpretation Q – read this article written by a member of the examining tea https://www.accaglobal.com/hk/en/student/exam-support-resources/fundamentals-exams-study-resources/f7/technical-articles/interpretation-questions.html

Then – for section C – start with these questions https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/acca/global/PDF-students/acca/f7/exampapers/int/f7-2017-sepdec-q.pdf and read CAREFULLY through te “Read the Mind of the Marker” article https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/ACCA_Global/Students/fun/f7/Read_the_mind_of_FR_marker_WEB.pdf – this is REALLY IMPORTANT for exam technique and to understand what does/not earn marks.

With a focussed plan – you should start seeing improvements in your performance – and that should give you confidence to succeed.

The same approach can be applied to any Applied Skills exam – here are the links:
    https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/acca/global/PDF-students/acca/f6/studyguides/3626_TX-UK_study_support_guide.pdf

    https://opentuition.com/forum/ask-acca-tutor-forums/ask-the-tutor-acca-taxation-tx-uk-exams

For question practice, you need to make sure that CBE exams in the Practice Platform have been updated for FA21 – see advice I already gave you here https://opentuition.com/topic/resit-3

You must work through the FA 2021 article if you haven’t already done so https://www.accaglobal.com/my/en/student/exam-support-resources/fundamentals-exams-study-resources/f6/technical-articles.html All the articles are relevant. At the bottom of this page you will find exam technique articles which include the “Read the mind of the TX (UK) marker” – if that hasn’t been updated for FA2021, the points of exam technique will still be relevant.
