Guys why did I not receive the mail??
September 18, 2019 at 4:09 pm #546627Wow what a joke I’ve literally been refreshing my emails all day
September 18, 2019 at 5:12 pm #546632It is very disappointing… they must have known this before today…. why we didn’t receive the email earlier……. also who submitted the papers on time why we need to wait????
September 18, 2019 at 6:34 pm #546642The issues stemming back to P37 meant the results were delayed by nearly 2 MONTHS !!! so P38 had already closed before failed P37 students had their results. In the circumstances and in fairness to these students who otherwise would be waiting until November to resubmit in P39 were offered a June submission (with only 5 weeks to correct their work and potentially a choice of resubmitting or dong exams).
So stop feeling sorry for yourselves – compared with everything that happened to P37 students a week’s delay in the grand scheme of things is NOTHING!
September 19, 2019 at 3:53 am #546669Looks like initially they were going to send just pass/fail results, but now they have decided to email the grades as well…. I would rather know the pass/fail asap lol

IMPORTANT: BSc Applied Accounting Submissions, Period 38 – Update

Dear Student,As a result of the additional submission window in June, there will be a slight delay in the release of the RAP results and degree awards.
We have completed the marking and moderating of the RAP and these marks have been ratified by an Examination Board. We are now in the process of combining the RAP grade with the ACCA examinations marks so that the Examination Board can approve these at a meeting on Monday 23 September and we can then provide the successful students with their degree classification and final award.
You will receive your RAP grade and, where applicable, degree classification by Wednesday 25 September. Feedback, for those students that have been unsuccessful, will be provided by the end of September.
We do apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Kind regards
Well, above is something they could have informed earlier to students rather than waiting until last moment.
Did all of you received this email? Coz I did not received any email from OBU since yesterday ….
September 19, 2019 at 8:10 am #546672@ Sock Nee
Yeah I did receive the email today.
September 19, 2019 at 8:28 am #546673Same here. I received an email like this a few minutes ago.
September 19, 2019 at 9:12 am #546677I got the mail from OBU saying its gonna be delayed to 25th.
September 19, 2019 at 11:04 am #546687According to the mail, if one doesn’t receive results by 25th September, 2019 it’s a fail. I think it’s not a good way of communicating results to students.
September 19, 2019 at 11:39 am #546690I dont think they will ignore the students who failed. the mail says “You will receive the RAP grade and degree classification by 25th”.
The RAP grades are 1. Pass grades (A, B or C) or 2. Fail grade (F).
So they ideally would say if its a F.September 19, 2019 at 1:11 pm #546694They will send mail to everyone just relax
September 19, 2019 at 3:21 pm #546701Life is all about the ups and downs. I was impatient for the results yesterday and hardly slept the day before as I was extremely anxious.
Disappointing about the delay and OBU should seriously need to learn and work around their issues but i’m at peace now and looking forward to the 25th!
September 19, 2019 at 8:09 pm #546719@sock nee just check whether you filled in the google form as requested by OBU few days back in which they asked toprovide the contact details of students. Doubtful whether they have your correct email. Better if you email and check.
September 20, 2019 at 7:52 am #546734Let`s call a spade a spade here. This is the University ever with the most frustrating administration. I stopped two of my brothers from studying with them after the experience I had. Certificates are always delayed and when students send emails, noone replies.I wanted to study my MBA with them. Got an offer, but with this kind of poor administration, I cancelled it. There is nothing better about two bad things. After what happened to students in period 37, they should have adjusted to expedite certificates dispatching.
September 20, 2019 at 9:57 am #546740Yes exactly, ACCA just takes around 1.5 months to issue the results with multiple folds of students sitting per session unlike the OBU degree which gets 4 months of time span with relatively low count of submissions than ACCA. At least they should have notified us about the delay on the 17th sep.
With regard to the graduation day I got to know that students don’t receive any certificates or at least some sort of a general medal or badge authenticating our completion of the BSc.That is pathetic. I don’t know how it is in the UK. It is discouraging for students to fly for the graduation day all the way to Dubai or Malaysia just for a handshake on the stage. I know that a decent amount of students attend the graduation, but the event can be made more pleasing if OBU provides the graduates with some sort of certificate, medal or bagde on the big day.
COMMENT BY Trephena – As has already been explained the two systems are not comparable. I am not aware that EVERY SINGLE ACCA paper that is failed is remarked for example – which is the case with the RAP. Also Degrees are regulated and all UK Universities have accreditations that mean that the work has to be reviewed by external examiners – again I do not believe that is the case with ACCA papers.
It is a graduation ceremony and not school prize giving! I will tell you exactly what it is in the UK. The numbers are huge (during graduation periods probably graduates numbers run to five figures) – so it would be logistically impossible with no shows to ensure that everyone ended up with the right certificates on the day and therefore the norm for every UK university is to send the certificate to the registered address of the student. I accept that overseas the numbers are smaller but administratively if someone didn’t turn up what then? What would happen to their certificate? If not collected it could end up being lost or mislaid – it can only be issued once so then further moans and complaints understandably would ensue if students were told ‘tough you should have collected it and you didn’t’.
The graduation ceremony is for friends and family to join with you to congratulate and share in your success and as you are not compelled to attend, I suggest you stay home if you don’t think it’s worth attending. As for a badge or medal? Oh please! The object of doing the work is to obtain a degree and you get certificate to verify this – if you want a badge or medal take up a sport and start training for the Olympics!
September 20, 2019 at 11:09 am #546754I think they don’t care about applied accounting through ACCA route. They are more focused on in house courses. It’s high time for ACCA to collaborate with another university.
September 21, 2019 at 6:45 pm #546929Has any one recieved obu result as of yet ?
September 23, 2019 at 12:59 pm #547130This is just an administrative hiccup that does not necessarily affect the academic quality of the OBU degree qualification. It’s good to keep things in perspective.
September 23, 2019 at 3:36 pm #547148All the best for tomorrow and Wednesday.
September 23, 2019 at 6:55 pm #547162anyone received their result yet ??
September 24, 2019 at 8:12 am #547182I was going to ask the same thing. Do we think we will get the results today or will they only be released tomorrow?
September 24, 2019 at 9:26 am #547184No one has received yet I think. Maybe in the afternoon.
September 24, 2019 at 6:05 pm #547230The results started coming out,
