For failed students – take a look at “Failed your RAP?” Where I suggest a plan of action to help you pass next time – Trephena

I passed, with a grade A and therefore 1st Class Honours.
Thank you @trephena for your wise counsel, and OT generally for the resources provided.
[It looks like Investopedia is ok after all].
Footnote from GillianM of absolute mentoring:
First well done you must be very pleased and proud 😀 as this is no mean feat! If you refer back to my original post on the Referencing thread I had said “So in many respects I would tell you not to worry unduly about this”. However generally, named sources are preferred and speaking as a former senior marker too much use of Wikipedia is definitely frowned upon!
September 19, 2018 at 2:28 am #475175I failed because they hadn’t received my references which I had uploaded. Is there a complaints procedure as the site had crashed which I have proof that there was a problem at the time of submission?
September 19, 2018 at 6:32 am #475180How disappointing! There is an appeals system and you can most certainly try. (Details in the Info Pack). The only issue I can foresee is that normally a confirmation of the actual files submitted is produced and a studentt needs to check this.
However if you have proof the website crashed and didn’t get a confirmation and then you may be able to try. (However if the confirmation was produced but not checked then you are less likely to succeed). Good luck!
I would urge everyone to submit work early rather than last minute as it is less stressful and the site is less likely to crash. I also suggest that students check the confirmation, and where there is a problem of files missing notify acca@brookes.ac.uk immediately.
Do let us know how you get on.

Thank you Gillian.
Of course, I would never suggest the use of Wikipedia (or any other publicly editable source) as a reference.
I believe your main point, that there probably isn’t any need to reference common ratio formulae, is most pertinent. But if people feel the need to reference each one, Investopedia (edited by analysts and educators etc.), provides definitions of the main ratios which seem acceptable, at least in my experience, to OBU markers.
Comment by GillianM: Agreed! 🙂
September 19, 2018 at 12:21 pm #475219Thank you @trephena for your guidance. You have been extremely helpful. I certainly would not be able to compile such a report without your help. God Bless. Thank you.

September 20, 2018 at 1:30 am #475334Does anyone know if OBU can post my transcripts all the way to Latin America, well if I Were to go there.
September 20, 2018 at 11:26 am #475378Good morning and congratulations to all those passed,
I failed only in IT skills and marker commented that my project was very good well done, but I put the values in excel spreadsheet and didn’t use formula to calculate those values,
Isn’t it fairly minor reason alone to fail the whole project ?
This was my first and last chance before 10 years eligibility, I may try to get extension based on mitigating circumstances but in that case my grade will be restricted to C,
I have already emailed OBU awaiting their reply, Please advise what options do I have ?
Many thanksSeptember 20, 2018 at 9:19 pm #475418@omer761 said:

which topic did u choose ?September 22, 2018 at 12:02 pm #475510Topic 8
September 22, 2018 at 2:07 pm #475528My commiserations omer761 – unfortunately the marker’s hands would have been tied on this one as the Assessment Criteria (Appendix 1) clearly state that the spreadsheet must show formulae and therefore it was a technical fail. I am very surprised you or your mentor did not spot this one though before you submitted. For extenuating/mitigating circumstances and an extension you normally need certified proof of personal illness or close family bereavement. Alternatively you could try student disputes if that is unsuccessful – see https://www.brookes.ac.uk/students/your-studies/student-disputes/
Good luck!
