IFRS 3 required that the fair value of the acquition net asset should be recalculated when negative goodwill occur.after such review any negative goodwill should be credited to the income statement.
QUESTION :Does it mean that negative goodwill (discount on acquisition )should be added to the value of sales?
It will not be included in sales as it does not meet the definition of revenue (not part of the entitys ordinary activities).
It will be an exceptional item reported after operating profit.
