ACCA has taken the decision to cancel centre-based exams in some locations and offer remote exams as an alternative. In other locations, ACCA is offering the option of remote exams alongside centre-based. See https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/covid-19-exam-availability.html
If this affects a booking that you have already made, you should have been advised already that booking for remote exams will open on 19 APRIL and we recommend that you bookmark this page https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/computer-based-exams/remote-session-exams.html
Read on to find out more about remote exams and watch the step-by-step video how to book.
Remote exams can be taken in any private, quiet space. Upon booking, you will be given an exam start time, just like centre-based exams. You will complete the exam in the allocated time, under the same conditions as an exam centre. The exam will be invigilated remotely by a real person via a WEBCAM.
It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that the requirements are met to successfully run the exam from a remote location. You must complete a SYSTEM CHECK in the LOCATION and on the DEVICE you plan to use in the exam. See here for details https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/computer-based-exams/remote-session-exams/before-you-book.html
If you cannot meet the pre-booking entry requirements you should NOT enter for a remote invigilation exam.
You can find a video and “step-by-step booking guide” here https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/computer-based-exams/remote-session-exams/how-to-book.html
April 19, 2021 at 4:44 am #618162Hi Kim,
Would I have to cancel my exam manually to book or automatically it gets credited to my account? I have not yet received any credit since I got the news that I will b writing remotely.
April 19, 2021 at 7:56 am #618171Hello, Can I book remote session CBEs in India?
I checked myAcca and there was no option for remote exams booking, I have booked Center Based Examination for June 2021.
April 19, 2021 at 10:00 am #618188Remote exams can only be booked for countries listed on the Covid-19 page: https://www.accaglobal.com/ca/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/covid-19-exam-availability.html
India is not listed there at the moment.
April 19, 2021 at 10:45 am #618193@chinedu – if you have already booked at a centre which is now not available I would expect the email from ACCA advising you about the availability of remote invigilation to provide details. If not please contact ACCA directly https://forms.accaglobal.com/contact-us
April 19, 2021 at 5:23 pm #618234Hi.
Was anyone able to book remote exam today, in any country listed on acca website?April 19, 2021 at 6:40 pm #618240Yes I have. Just did now.
April 19, 2021 at 6:56 pm #618242Thanks for confirmation. Do you know what might be an issue if once I want to add an exam on my acca account, i dont see the possibiliy of choosing “AT home”. and when I select location Belgium, the exam center does not show any city (I understand it is due to – the centre exam is cancelled there)
April 19, 2021 at 7:07 pm #618243Have you canceled your previous exam booking? If not, cancel it so that you would get a credit. then I waited for 12 hours before mine showed, “AT HOME” availability.
Then you can also call them, they answer really quick and they would rectify it.
April 19, 2021 at 7:16 pm #618244Also I am yet to get a confirmation email that my exam has been booked. Although it shows on my exam planner and all. Would this be a problem?
April 20, 2021 at 8:33 am #618276@dominika93 – I presume that it is a SESSION CBE you are trying to book and not an ON-DEMAND CBE (you do not say which exam). If you do not see the “At Home” option you might first want to check that you have no other fees outstanding (as it says “You can enter for ACCA exams as long as you have no other fees outstanding”).
If you have tried all the standard things – a different browser, clearing caches and refresh – you should contact ACCA directly https://www.accaglobal.com/sg/en/footer-toolbar/contact-us.html
April 20, 2021 at 8:38 am #618277@chinedu123 – since it says you will receive an email confirming your booking in the guide and the video indicates that this will be “shortly”, I suggest you check your spam folder. If your email address is correct in myACCA I suggest you contact ACCA directly https://www.accaglobal.com/sg/en/footer-toolbar/contact-us.html
April 20, 2021 at 9:21 am #618281Hi,
It says “Close all applications, apart from Finder and OnVue.” OnVue is the software which we download to check system and we will use it during the exam. What is Finder application?
Thanks,
April 20, 2021 at 11:09 am #618286Finder is part of your computer’s operating system software.
April 28, 2021 at 2:23 pm #619086Hi Kim,
I would like to ask whether earplugs will be provided to the students who are sitting for CBE exam?April 28, 2021 at 3:43 pm #619093@kexin17 – this is a post about “Remote session CBEs” – for which the exam set up says:
“No headsets, earplugs,
earbuds, no scrap paper,
no additional monitor,
no additional food
or drink”For centre-based exams, I have heard of instances in the past where a student has been told by an invigilator that they cannot use earplugs – and there is certainly no requirement for a centre to provide them.
You could contact ACCA directly to ask for confirmation if you are asking about centre-based exams https://forms.accaglobal.com/contact-us
If it’s still not clear whether allowed you could take – I suggest evident foam earplug type – not something that might look like a headphone (!) and ask for permission to use them before the exam starts – but you would have to be prepared for permission to be refused.
May 7, 2021 at 11:04 am #619950Hi i was watching a video, it stated that windows should be blinded or perhaps it was more towards the idea that no one should be visible outside. Does this mean windows should be blinded explicitly and before the exam, do we have to pan our laptop 360 for the invigilator?
May 7, 2021 at 11:08 am #619951do i have to book anything additional for remote cbe or my existing booking for exam would suffce?
May 8, 2021 at 8:16 am #620003If you’re in Pakistan: https://www.accaglobal.com/ca/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/covid-19-exam-availability.html
“Pakistan* – only students who had existing centre entry will be OFFERED opportunity to enter remote exams.”
It’s an offer – not automatic – so you should receive an e-mail offering with some guidance. You have to make a booking for RI because in that you confirm that you meet the technical specification and have done the requisite checks.
May 27, 2021 at 3:00 pm #621921Hi for anyone who has already sat for remote exams any tips or stuff we have to be vary of or look out for.
Thanks in advance
