Hi all,
I wanted to share a bit about my current situation to help you understand my perspective and whether your advice might be relevant.
I have two exams left (AFM and ATX) to complete my ACCA qualification. I currently work as a Finance Director for a medium-sized charity and have gained valuable experience in various finance roles. I’ve successfully passed some exams, including strategic levels, on my first attempt in the past. However, I recently fell short by a few marks on the AFM exam in September.
At this stage in my career, I’m eager to advance, but the lack of formal qualification is hindering many opportunities. Therefore, I’m considering taking both remaining exams—AFM and the new ATX—in March. Please keep in mind that I have a demanding job, two young children, limited family support, and it’s been a while since I’ve attempted two exams in one sitting.
My question is: how realistic is it for me to take both exams in March? Has anyone faced a similar situation and succeeded? If so, how did you achieve it (number of hours spend on revision, did you prioritise practice over theory etc.). I would appreciate any insights or advice.
Thank you for your support, as I’m feeling a bit stuck right now.
If it helps, I generally advise against sitting ATX or TX for the first time at a March sitting, because the exam year for TX is June-March rather than Sept-June, so if resitting in June were called for, it would be a new Finance Act.
