Dear Jenny,
Our mentors have received your query and will be in touch very shortly.
Thank you for pointing out the errors on the website too. The website’s creation and maintenence are outsourced to an external vendor. We had just very recently transferred our web based content over to a new server and are still experiencing teething problems with the new system and layout. Nevertheless, the principal mentor has directed the vendor to look into the issues highlighted.
Thank you Nati for your kind words. We have always tried to provide as much assistance as we possibly can to all who contact us. What you experience is an indicator of the timeliness and depth of the assistance you’ll receive during the course of your mentorship. We hope to welcome you on board some time in the future.
March 25, 2015 at 10:12 am #238719I HIGHLY recommend The Learning Luminarium!! I just passed with a B first attempt (whilst juggling my final ACCA P5 and P7 exams at the same time)! I could not have done it without them!! Thank you 😀 😀

June 4, 2015 at 7:14 pm #253318REVIEW OF THE LEARNING LUMINARIUM
I am hoping this thread will be of some help to students who are submitting or resubmitting their RAP and considering a mentor.
I used The Learning Luminarium to help with a re-submission in period 30. My project was based on topic 8 and titled “An investigation into the business and financial performance of J Sainsbury plc over a three year period.” My first RAP was also based on the same topic and company. I failed due to a lack of ratio analysis and insufficient information in my PowerPoint slides.
My experience of TLL was positive overall due to the following:
– Response time by email was within 24 hours and often less. This was very important to me as the previous company I used took longer to reply. This meant I could be waiting for days stuck on something or ended up answering my own query by the time I got a response.
– I asked many questions and these were all answered clearly, the mentor provided examples which helped as I had something to work on and could go away and do more analysis / evaluation.
– I paid for a reading and review of my failed RAP (Part 3 only) a second review of my updated RAP and the required mentoring until I resubmitted. I feel the cost was reasonable given the service provided.
I will update this thread when my results come out and am happy to answer any queries anyone has.
John
August 3, 2015 at 12:21 pm #265064How can I register for OBU RAP
August 4, 2015 at 10:23 am #265396@phillipnjazi – as long as you meet the basic rules – see our topics dealing with how to get started and our homepage http://www.opentuition.com/obu
You do not need to specifically register to start however you will need to find a registered mentor before you are allowed to submit so you should register as a mentee on the OBU mentoring website and consult the latest OBU RAP Information Pack.
If you are talking about registering with The Learning Luminarium then contact them via the link or personal message and they will discuss how the packages they offer might suit your particular needs
August 8, 2015 at 9:14 am #266219I am currently looking for a mentor and for some reason I am too in doubt about every mentor I come across, probably because preparing a research is something new to me. However, being recommended by OT surely gives me some assurance. Yet, I have some quires to make:
– It says on your website that you provide learning materials, what do your learning materials include? Does it include video instructions and samples of successful projects?
– Do the meetings have fixed dates and timings or will they be scheduled as we go along? Because I am a full time worker and I will need the mentor to be flexible on the timing of meetings.
After clearing my doubts, I will register soon for November Submission.
Many thanks,
August 8, 2015 at 9:29 am #266222Hi Mahoysam,
Yes, we include video instructions, mentor authored articles on common pitfalls of the project, as well as adapted samples created by our mentors designed to reflect what a realistic and achievable end product looks like.
Mentorship timings are always decided between students and mentors. Our aim is to provide a flexible package that meets the needs of every student. As such, our packages will always be customisable. We have also private messaged you. Hope my response helps!

The Learning LuminariumOctober 6, 2015 at 10:29 am #275023Alot of people would probably take the plunge and register due to this recommendation and I hope OT has done a lot offline, background work to arrive at this endorsement .Moreover, you should consider adding your location address to your website and look into other customer confidence building mechanism- paypal and other online verification system- I love Azimo but i cant use it for a business transaction.
A potential mentee.
November 12, 2015 at 9:25 pm #282050Learning Luminarium is definitely good when it comes to OBU mentorship. They can be recommend at any time to anyone that need to pass. I approach them for my second attempt. They always willing to listen and guide student. Initially was not sure how to go about my report but through their proper guidance was able to understand all that was required. I gained a lot through my mentor as he has a positive attitude, answer questions same day despite the time difference. Their charges are reasonable and I got valued for the money paid.
Passed my second attempt thank you Learning LuminariumNovember 12, 2015 at 11:13 pm #282060Thank you for this. I was given a lot of flak by someone on the Mentoring forum because I endorse the Learning Luminarium. (I wouldn’t recommend just anyone as I have exacting standards myself and want only the best for students)

Thank you to Irwin from the Learning Luminarium team for supporting me in successfully passing my RAP. I fully recommend him. My project was based in Corporate Governance so if you’re thinking on choosing that topic you can be assured that you have very good chances of passing your project first time.
Your sincerely
José

The Learning LuminariumMarch 27, 2016 at 6:39 pm #308414I passed my Research and Analysis Project. Thanking Opentuition for all the advice and help their site offers to ACCA students and also for recommending the Learning Luminarium. Their mentors are highly professional. Mr. Irwin TLL was great to deal with and he put me on to Ms. Susanna Loh. She was highly competent and professional.
March 28, 2016 at 3:13 pm #308492@balkissoon – thanks for your kind commendation! We are glad to have been able to accompany you on this journey. Susanna speaks well of you and sends her regards!

March 29, 2016 at 10:21 am #308574I came across The Learning Laminuarim by accident, on Open Tuition, and I am thankful that I did. Initially, I was hesitant about signing up for online mentoring services, as I was concerned that I won’t be able to sufficiently communicate with my mentor, but my concerns were not in place!
I was assigned Irwin to act as my mentor, he gave me such focused attention, as if I was his only student! His responses were prompt, his doors were open for me anytime I needed to communicate any doubts or issues, and he provided me with constructive clear advice whenever he reviewed my work, as well as invaluable recommendations that improved my research significantly.
I am glad I chose The Learning Laminuarim for mentoring services, they made the project so much easier for me, and I cleared all components on first attempt with a satisfactory grade.
I confidently recommend their services, they are worth the try!
Kind Regards,
Maha
May 17, 2016 at 8:10 am #315411Dear all
I have just submitted my research project and used the Learning Luminarium (LL) my mentor was Irwin Loh but I am sure the other mentors are equally as good.
I did pay for the platinum package as this is the first time I have ever done something like this and I wanted to mitigate my risk of failure to the fullest extent, it is money very well spent in my experience. Irwin was brilliant in every respect insightful, knowledgeable and most importantly helpful. For someone like myself who works full time it was really helpful that I could contact my mentor on weekends. You will still need to put in the effort yourself but I am certain the other providers would struggle to hold a torch to LL.
The only other word of advice that I would give is you will need access to a good library as LL doesn’t yet have this facility?
Kind regards
Richard M
