Hello,
I am not as active here as I was during my ACCA time. As I had mentioned earlier, those who require sample material, please e-mail me at imabba@gmail.com and I will try my best to send you the material asap. It is easier for me to reply to the e-mail than copying and pasting them from here.
Thanks
ImranJanuary 29, 2018 at 8:32 am #433755Hello Malik,
You need at least 2-3 hours a day. Like said here before, notes are not always clear and you need to do your own research and reading to understand a topic better.
As an auditor, you might have some down days so I suggest you make the most of them to read as much as possible. During the busy days, you will just need to make time and cut down on some leisure. If you follow the schedule the Uni provides, you should be good to go as per my experience.
January 29, 2018 at 8:44 am #433763Ayekt,
The coursework and final projects are divided. The first course work will be based on theme 1&2 (6 topics). The second will be based on theme 3&4 (6 topics) and the project on the last two themes. The guidance the Uni provides for these are so clear and precise, you can’t go wrong unless you haven’t done the reading well. They give you the structure of how the writing should be and what should be included.
As long as you read and understand the topics, you should be fine.
February 1, 2018 at 3:41 pm #434435I am currently doing this. 4 weeks gone by, I have no idea what I am doing, It seems I am totally lost. Really have no idea what to do and what to read.
May I know if failed and wanna retake it, do we still need to pay the same course fee of about 1500 again?February 7, 2018 at 9:49 am #435630A second attempt cost around GBP650 in 2017. Its almost half the price I would say. Still a lot.
All material is provided by the university. You need to do your own research only when you do not understand it from their notes. They also provide a timetable. So week 1 is topic 1, week 2 is topic 2 and so on. Follow that and you should be ok. You need to put you mind behind it and you should be able to pass without any problem. So I suggest you to keep calm and focus on the reading.
March 13, 2018 at 11:59 am #442443Hi guys!
Is it advisable to take the UOL MSc in Professional Accounting if I don’t have much work experience yet? They have a five year rule where you have to take competency exam if you go over 5 years from passing your professional exams.
Would also love to hear from you Alkemist if you do read this one.
Thank you all so much!

@Kylerlu It can be done without work experience, although experience of industry is a big help, especially when you get to the research project element. As for the competency exam, that wasn’t much of an issue when I did it, but different persons may have a different experience.
April 2, 2018 at 6:15 am #444462Hi, thanks for the advice, it is helpful.
I intend to enroll into the MSc this year, path 2 however my last ACCA exam was more than 5 years and it requested me to take an online preparation test. Can you let me know if there is any documents provided in preparation for that test and which level/ papers of ACCA this preparation exam is at? Any suggestion on how i should do the preparation?
Many thanks and appreciate your help.
April 3, 2018 at 6:19 am #444659Thanks so much Alkemist. I have received my offer letter from UoL. Just thinking whether to finish in 6 months or one year. Any suggestions? And what is the best way for preparing for the two modules?
Thanks.

@hodacmydung do not worry about the online assessment. It is a simple exercise, just sign up and do it. It isn’t a brain buster, just a simple course so they can say you have caught up with modern trends.April 10, 2018 at 9:56 pm #446053@kylerlu said:

@kylerlu it all depends on how much time you are willing to devote. In my case, I could have probably finished in 6 months but I knew my circumstances so I did one module each 6 month period.April 16, 2018 at 2:49 pm #447433It would be awesome if anyone could give further insight on this, as I’m planning on progress to start the masters this year 🙂
April 18, 2018 at 12:02 pm #447959Hi Jane,
I have just applied MSc (Path 2), but need to do a preparation course as I passed ACCA more than 5 years ago. It looks like the average study hours are more than 4 hours per day! Not sure I am able to catch up the pace of the modules, what it would happen if coursework deadline is not be able to meet? Full time working and looking after a baby is not easy though.Regards,
AdaApril 18, 2018 at 2:01 pm #447981I will probably do one module for each 6 month period too as I have to work as well.
Thank you so much @alkemist for all the help! God bless!
Regards,
KylerApril 18, 2018 at 10:15 pm #448061@adatan Jane is not on opentuition. She is thestudent coordinator for the MSc programme at UoL. As for the prep course, do not stress yourself over the time, just do it.
April 23, 2018 at 2:29 pm #448539Hi @alkemist!
Which would you say is harder? The Strategic Financial Project or the Global Issues for the Finance Professional?
I just want to take the harder one during the period where company work is manageable and take the easier one during busy periods at work.
Thanks!
Kyler
April 26, 2018 at 5:41 am #448883Also, how do you guys put this on your CV after completing the masters program? Do you put UOL or UCL? Or both? To put “academic direction…..” on a CV seems too long and i’ve never seen that in any CV.
Thanks guys
April 26, 2018 at 7:44 am #448898@kylerlu both are equally manageable. As for CV, it is MSc in Professional Accountancy – University of London.
April 30, 2018 at 6:15 pm #449514Has anybody seen what it actually looks like? The appearance of the thing?
May 3, 2018 at 10:27 am #449914Thank you Imuabbas
You have enlightened me.
May 3, 2018 at 6:13 pm #449983May 4, 2018 at 5:20 pm #450108What does it say on the certificate?
May 5, 2018 at 10:18 am #450206It says University of London, Master of Science
May 6, 2018 at 8:46 am #450281Thanks and congratulations
May 6, 2018 at 3:28 pm #450332I’m really sorry to be posting a question here that has nothing to do with the Masters but I really need this information. Do you have to wait for an invite from ACCA to apply for membership or can you go ahead and apply once you’ve met the requirements???
