Today I passed my first ACCA exam: F4 (LW-GLO) 70%. I studied with BPP materials and OpenTuition.
Thank you Mike for being such a good lecturer! I appreciated a lot your explanations and practical examples! Thanks again for your effort in guiding and motivating me more.April 22, 2019 at 9:05 pm
Very many congratulations Veronica – it’s good to know that someone listens to our materials!
Onwards and upwards … and Open Tuition will be with you!April 23, 2019 at 9:03 pm
Hi! Is it possible to pass the F4 (LW-GLO) exam without studying with BPP and/or Kaplan materials but only using the sources on the internet and OpenTuition materials? Thanks!April 24, 2019 at 8:04 am
Almost … however, you really cannot avoid acquiring a revision kit from either of the approved publishers .
These kits contain hundreds of examination type multiple choice questions and practice on these is essential if you hope to achieve a good pass
OK?April 24, 2019 at 12:11 pm
Thank you for your advice, Mike! I really hope to achieve a good pass 🙂
I have purchased the kit today using the Discount Code from this site.
Happy to be member of OpenTuition community!April 24, 2019 at 12:24 pm
Glad to have you on board, Viorica
Anytime you hit a brick wall or don’t understand an answer in the revision kit, post on the Law Ask ACCA Tutor forum and I shall get back to youApril 24, 2019 at 6:40 pm

I passed my ACCA F4 (LW ENG) Exam via CBE yesterday. I wouldn’t have passed it, if it wasn’t for you guys at Open Tuition. I only managed to study 5 topics in the with BPP text book (due to limited time). But I relied on your lecture videos and summarized noted. Those I watched and studied to the full several times. I manged to score 70% which is my highest so far in my ACCA II. Thank you so much.April 26, 2019 at 2:00 pm
Good score … Well done
On to Performance Management and John’s lectures 🙂May 18, 2019 at 5:39 pm
hey? anyone can suggest me which variant should i adopt? ENG or GLO ?May 19, 2019 at 6:53 am
If you have plans to practice as an accountant in England at any time in the future, then you MUST choose English variant
Otherwise, the choice is yours
As a personal preference, I would select English variant but that’s probably fundamentally because I am English and I find the stories in the cases behind the principles in law great fun
But if you’re not looking to practice as an accountant in England the probably Global variant would be more appropriate
Whichever you choose, I’m here to answer any queries you may have be they English or GlobalJune 19, 2019 at 9:32 am
Hello, I’ve just started my ACCA journey and sitting for my first exam AA in September. Wanted to sit for more than one exam before year end…Do you think I have ample time to study for LW as well. I started with the online lectures for AA…revision kits will only be available next month. Am only able to self studyJune 20, 2019 at 4:31 pm
6 months should be ample! Just make sure that you buy a revision kit from one of the recognised tuition providers – endless hours of practicing answering questions is an essential element of success in the Law paper
And, of course, when you hit a brick wall, post your question on the Ask ACCA Tutor forum and I shall get back to you
OK?June 28, 2019 at 6:01 am
Thank you Mike!
Today I passed my first attempt of ACCA exam: F4 (English variant).
I am so glad to listen all your lecture videos for such limited time. Your technique and reliable example helps me grasp the concept.
Appreciate to hear about OpenTuition.June 28, 2019 at 6:05 am
Elma, that’s great news – and glad to have been of help
On now to PM and John’s lectures!July 9, 2019 at 4:56 pm
Hi im ACCA studend 3years ago. i had a gap until now. i would like to sit for exam in september. i have F4, F5, F8 & F9 left from skill levels. I would like to do one exam in theses mention papers. Which one is ideal to study for the september exam. Do i need to buy any books(kaplan or BBP) or open tution is enough?
I really appreciate your guidance for me to start my acca journey back.

The paper titles have now changed – they’re no longer F4, F5 etc
They are now:
F4 is Law (LW)
F5 is Performance Management (PM)
F8 is Audit and Assurance (AA)
F9 is Financial Management (FM)
Now to your questions … PM, AA and FM all link directly to papers at the higher level
The Law paper has no direct links to later papers
It would seem to me that Law would be a sensible choice for you leaving the other papers until later. In that way, your skill level knowledge will be fresher in your mind for when you arrive at the next level
Do you need to buy any books or is OpenTuition enough? OpenTuition is not enough, sadly. You must buy a revision kit from one of the recognised publishers (Kaplan or BPP)
If you choose to buy a BPP Revision Kit, you could take advantage of the 20% discount that is available when you order through OpenTuition – click on the yellow box at the top of this page and simply follow the instructions
The reason that you must acquire a revision kit is because they contain hundreds of examination standard questions and will thus provide you with hours and hours of practice in preparation for the exam
When you hit a problem understanding a solution to a question post again on the Ask ACCA Tutor forum and I shall get back to you
In addition to question practice from a revision kit, watch the free videos on this site and repeatedly read through the free course notes (just read (don’t try to ‘learn’ or ‘memorise’ – just read), start to finish – it should take maybe 2 hours) Try to read through those notes once each week
One final tip – when attempting questions in the revision kit, don’t write your attempt in the revision kit itself. Write your efforts on a separate piece of paper. In that way you can keep returning to the questions without being influenced by your own previous attempts
OK?July 22, 2019 at 9:26 am
May I know your time taken to finish this please?August 8, 2019 at 8:14 pm
Did you self study?August 9, 2019 at 7:25 am
Everpeace and Baraka, to whom are you addressing your question?August 10, 2019 at 7:26 am
I prepared F4 (eng) in a month solely with the help of your lectures, and I’ve got 92%. I liked the way you taught, thanks again!August 11, 2019 at 5:42 am
What a great score that is! Well done
