Interview with Joanel, December 2015 P7 Genius Hunt Winner, who scored 83%

joanelP7ACCA

Please tell us in which country you live, and what work do you do.

My name is Beda Thibaut Atome I am from Ivory Coast But I live and work in Ghana as the Assistant Manager – Internal Audit at EPP Books Services a Publishing and Books selling company in Ghana.

How much time each week did you spend studying, on average?

I took approximately 40 days of work to prepare for the exam but before then I used to read the open tuition note during break time at work so as to familiarize myself with the paper

Which study resources did you use?

I used opentuition lecture and decided to focus solely on the past questions and answers from the ACCA website

Did you get support from your firm?

My firm does not support my studies but the General Manager does help me with the tuition as he is like a father to me but that is on a personal note

What was your approach to your studying?

I decided to study the examiner approach to answering questions. I paid particular attention to how the answers were structured. Having a French background, I though being convincing enough with the words I use on my script could earn me a pass

What would you say was the most important factor that helped you to achieve such a high mark?

The most important factor for me was the fact that I mastered the examiner way of answering questions therefore I could produce an examiner type of answer for any question thrown at me.

How did you find out about OpenTuition, and which of our resources did you use?

Opentuition helped me to understand the topics long before I decided to study for the exam. In so doing I was not lost anytime I was solving questions.

Wow. Thats inspirational. You even come from a French background and outscored students conversant in English. Bravo. It can be painful saving so much to pay for the exams and end up failing. You have motivated us all. December 2016 P4 and P7 here I come.
