Hello, I’m from Trinidad and sitting LW as a CBE. Are these lectures valid? Doing it on Nov 10th (next monday) but I’m just starting to study. Do you think these videos are sufficient enough to pass? Love from Trinidad <3
Rochelle, if you’re trying to leave everything to the last minute, why are you asking this with 4 full days before 10th November? 馃檪
1 As a matter of urgency, read the course notes, start to finish, without trying to ‘learn’ the content. Just read. And do that every day starting NOW. They should take no more than 2 hours to just read from page 1 to the end.
2 Another urgent piece of advice – watch the video lectures for as long as, and for as many times as, your brain can take it.
3 As a third point of urgency, get your hands on a Revision Kit from a reputable publisher and, each day, after having immersed yourself in a two hour read and a mind blowing watch, open the Revision Kit and start practicing answers. Given the time constraints that you have sportingly given yourself, maybe just attempt every 10th question throughout the book. At the end of each section (the book is helpfully divided into sections) check your answers against the printed solution and rationalise why your answer was incorrect (if it was, in fact, incorrect). If you reach the end of the book, start again with a different question but progress from that point every 10th question
4 Return to point 1 and repeat
Two further helpful hints: Do NOT mark your answer attempts actually in the Revision Kit. Mark your attempts on a separate piece of paper. In that way, any subsequent attempt at the same question will not be influenced by an earlier attempt.
When you hit a brick wall, as you surely will, don’t struggle with trying to reconcile the answer to your own line of thought. Post the query on the Ask ACCA Tutor Law forum and I shall get back to you.
And finally, a hint for your future studies … leave yourself a couple of extra days. I seem to think that a 5 day study period is asking a lot of yourself.
If I don’t hear from you before 10th, please do let me know how you went on in the exam.
I’m sorry! Clearly my caustic reply earlier couldn’t have known about the personal pressures and difficulties that you face.
A Revision Kit? Do you not know of anyone in Trinidad that has recently passed their law exam?
You could try to ask at the offices of the ‘Big 4’
The two recognised tuition providers are BPP and Kaplan. I have a personal preference for BPP but, clearly, others don’t always share that preference. Had you been asking 5 months ago, I would have pointed you in the direction of acquiring a BPP Revision Kit taking advantage of the 20% discount by ordering through the yellow box on this site.
Sadly, you aren’t writing this 5 months ago!
OK Rochelle – this is less than ideal but I can only suggest that, if you can’t locate a Revision Kit TODAY, let’s give up on ‘urgent matter number 3’ and concentrate of reading and re-reading those course notes and watching endlessly the videos. As I write this, the time in Trinidad must be around 3.00 on Thursday morning. That gives you today, Friday, Saturday and Sunday of continuous and repetitive reading and listening. I have to say, I don’t envy you!
Another thought – you could check out the specimen law exams on the ACCA site to get a feel for the style and difficulties of the exam format and questions.
Do whatever you can TODAY to get a Revision Kit. Otherwise, read, watch and listen. And remember, I shall be here all the time between now and your Monday exam date. And whatever plans you had for Friday Night Lime, cancel them!
I found a BPP Revision Kit but it’s for exams from 1 Sep 2023, till 31 Aug 2024. I’m guessing there have been small changes since then, but I’d like to guess that most of the questions/answers can still prepare me to at least pass, right?
Good Day, I passed law with 64% ! Not the best mark but a pass for sure & I’m proud of it. Thank you for your advice. I’m on to FR on Dec 4th now
Rochelle! Very well done. I have to admit that I thought that it would be too much for you and I’m happy for you that you have proved me wrong. Now FR in 18 days? On this Law performance you should maybe think about taking a fortnight’s holiday before you ask P2D2 for studying advice.
Hi Mike, I just want to say a big thank you because I passed Acca Eng Law with 74% on my first try. I couldn’t have achieved it without you. Lots of love from Dublin, Beata
Thank you for your comment and, if you have any queries during the course of your law studies, do make sure that you post your questions on the Ask ACCA Tutor Law forum and I shall be happy to get back to you
They certainly are. Such is the nature of the law syllabus that it rarely alters and, when it does, it tends to be only very slight adjustments, The only change from September 2024 to December is the renaming of the division of the High Court that used to be entitled ‘Queens Bench Division’ With the passing of our Queen Elizabeth (the Second!), the Division has now changed its title to Kings Bench Division.
You certainly can! And, if you come across something that you don鈥檛 understand, you can post your query on the Ask ACCA Tutor page and I shall get back to you

I will be booking the exam for the last week of December. Hopefully as I have been able to complete the Foundation level in 6 months I think I will be able to do it but if I am not ready I will book for January.
You certainly can …. and when you hit a brick wall in trying to understand something, you can post on the Ask ACCA Tutor forum and I shall get back to you.
I am writing this exam on 21st march 2023. Are these lectures up to date? and also, I looked at the notes too but they are for the papers from September 2021 to august 2022 so how should I go about the notes?
Mannan, the notes are still good for March 2023 (as also are the video lectures.) What IS REALLY IMPORTANT is that you get hold of a revision kit from one of teh approved publishers and get stuck heavily into answering exam style / standard questions. Hour after hour of practice.
Your exam is just 11 days away! Has this thought about relevance and up-to-dateness just struck you and are you a last-minute studyer?
Posta gain if you feel that you need to – post on the Ask ACCA Tutor forum (I know that you’re doing CIMA but I don’t always look in the general questions whereas I ALWAYS look daily on the Ask ACCA Tutor pages)

I know I know – my circumstances are definitely NOT the best but I rather try, than not try. Is it possible to point me towards a Revision Kit?
I’m sorry! Clearly my caustic reply earlier couldn’t have known about the personal pressures and difficulties that you face.

Rochelle, I would be amazed if more than 1% of the answers in your 2004 revision kit were incorrect / outdated.
Go ahead and use that edition over these next 3 days.
OK?
Good Day, I passed law with 64% !

Both John and I (as well as many others in the OT team) worked for Financial Training that became subsumed over the years into Kaplan
Hi there!
I wanted to know if these lectures are good for Dec 2023?
Such is the nature of law, there are very few – if any! – changes to the syllabus from one year to the next.
In answer to your question, you certainly can use these notes and lectures for a December 2023 sitting.
NB December starts in 2 days’ time! Where have you been that you’re just now looking at notes and lectures????
I will be booking the exam for the last week of December. Hopefully as I have been able to complete the Foundation level in 6 months I think I will be able to do it but if I am not ready I will book for January.
Can I use these lectures for September 2023 exam?
Can I use these lectures and notes if I wanna attempt in June 2023?
You certainly can …. and when you hit a brick wall in trying to understand something, you can post on the Ask ACCA Tutor forum and I shall get back to you.
OK?
Hi is this exam on demand so can I book it anytime?
Please, ask either in Ask the ACCA Tutor forum or in the general forum … but NOT in both!
Thanks

I am very grateful for you lectures Mike. You make teaching fun!
Yes, I know the teaching is fun. I can only hope that the other side (ie the learning) is equally fun 馃檪
Thanks for the video. Just wanted to know if I can use these lectures for my June 2025 Exams.
