Hey, I have a question. I am studying OpenTuition notes with detail but I was wondering the need to read a proper textbook like Kaplan. Should I or the notes are enough? To read cases I think I have to….
You don’t need the cases! I lecture the cases because they frequently are the source for the point of law, but you don’t need to know them, neither the names nor dates.
The course notes are a good basis for your law studies but it is absolutely imperative that you get hold of a revision kit and spend endless hours practicing exam-style questions. And, when you’ve worked through the entire revision kit, work through it again! Repeat
Useful tip: don’t write your attempts in the revision kit itself. Write your answers on a separate piece of paper. Repeat
You are lucky that I saw your question – it would have been better posted in the Ask ACCA Tutor forum – I look at that forum every day!
Hi Mike, Love the lectures and want to say thank you very much for making a boring subject sound interesting. I can resonate with you on the northern anecdotes as I think I am from the same place as you. Wishing you all the best.
Just one thing to note – The test for Chapter 4, I don’t think the questions really relate to Chapter 4, I think they are more suited for Chapter 5.
Hi Mike, I love your lectures, I never thought I鈥檇 be laughing during an online Law lecture. You have a fantastic way of normalising complex subjects and just when I may find myself drifting off, you also find something amusing to say, which helps me re-engage with the lecture, giving it my full attention once more. I wish more lecturers had your passion, knowledge and wit.
