I would like to know if these videos and materials are enough for self-study. I was exempted from AA and have no knowledge of AA questions’ nature and structure.
I am planning on taking AAA in December but I like to know if there is some extra advice you would give in preparation for the exam.
Hello awesome team, after passing SBR on my first attempt and failing to pass AAA (International version) by studying alone I am reverting again to your helpful guidance. Could you please confirm that these videos are still relevant for the sitting on June 2023? There are additional points on ethics (as 20 points) and wanted to make sure that these videos are still applicable.
That’s very much up to you – how much you understood from early study of AA – whether you have any practical experience you can relate to – how well you feel you understand a published answer, etc. You should certainly refer to the “starred” posts at the top of the AAA forums for my prompts to essential technical articles and other resources. Please use the AAA tutor forum to be sure of a response as I check that daily as I don’t check here for comments on a regular basis.
Hello sir. I have not said thank you but I passed P3 because of you after failing it many times. Your teaching was just great, uncomparable. and I am sure that I will definitely pass P7. If I can get a chance that you teach ratio analysis, I may also pass OBU RAP that I have failed twice. Thank you so much.
Hi. Can you please give a practical example of Limited Assurance Engagement. Also, is there any particular ISA which deals with these kind of Engagements?
If you look at the notes you will find limited assurance considered in more detail later (e.g. in Chapter 26 a review of interim financial statements). The “review standards” (ISREs) that are examinable docs are ISRE 2400, Engagements to Review Historical Financial Statements (applies to review that are not carried out by the auditor) and ISRE 2410, Review of Interim Financial Information Performed by the Independent Auditor of the Entity. The titles of docs are a good clue to what they concern – you can download a list from here https://www.accaglobal.com/lk/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/p7/examinable-documents.html
i am planning to sit for p7 this June or in September . well my question is . is it sufficient to learn from the opentution videos and notes plus practising exam kit of BPP … i mean do i need to read bpp text book ? or just stick with opentution video and notes plus exam kit of bpp .. hope you understand .
Only you can decide if there is enough time – if you download the relevant “Study guide” from ACCA’s www you will find timetables to help you plan your time.
Yes it is possible but you will need to plan to study all of SBR before your revise AAA – for example, you will need to have covered IAS 19 in your studies before you can tackle a question involving the audit of pension liabilities.
Please remember to post questions to forums which are regularly monitored as comments are only reviewed periodically.
Is it advisable for me to sit the Advanced Audit Exam before completely Strategic Business Reporting, or will this have an impact on how well I understand the course content and eventually my final score.
Such questions need to be posted to the ask the tutor forum and not here as a comment. Since all SBR examinable documents except EDs are assumed knowledge for AAA, ACCA recommends that you sit SBR before AAA.

Thank you for your kind words about P3 – congratulations to you.
Although I still appear on the AAA videos, this paper is now run by the excellent Kim Smith, who used to be an ACCA auditing examiner.
If you are looking for material on ratio analysis to help with your OBU RAP, perhaps the following would be helpful:

Also would it be best advised if I went through lecture notes and the study guide (156 pages for AAA) and go through past ACCA papers?
Kim Smith says
Yes you will need to study thoroughly and then do lots of question practice – see my response to this post https://opentuition.com/topic/passing-the-exam-3/

Hello,
I was exempted from F8. Will it create any difficulty while attempting AAA?
Many Thanks,

Probably. Many AA skills and aspects of knowledge are extended in AAA.

Please may I ask if you will be putting a specimen paper on the site to reflect the change in the exam paper.
