Interview with ACCA F7 Genius Hunt winner Hunphy from Cambodia

Can you tell us more about yourself?

I am Hunphy Oudam. I am from Cambodia. I currently a full time student with Cam-ed Institute but at the time I took the exam I worked for BDO (Cambodia) Limited. Before I started ACCA last year I had gone through CAT program which I think is the best study ground for ACCA.

How do you balance between studying, job and private life?

Planning. Planning is very important. You should plan your time at the early stage and try your best to follow it. I believe that consistent work will lead to success.

Do you get support from your firm?

Yes, my former firm is very supportive such as study and exam leave up to 4 days per paper. Most of the staff took more than 2 weeks off including annual leave. It also pay for tuition and other related fee.

Which Study Texts and/or Revision Kits and other resources did you use, or found the most useful in your studies for this exam?

I use the BPP books, ACCA articles and examination feedback, past exam and Opentuition website. The short quiz at the end of each chapter is very useful because it helps remember key terms.

You have scored such 87 marks in ACCA F7 exam, many students must wonder what is your study technique?

My study is technique is quite strange. I do not like to spend massive time on material. I only spend about half an hour to skim through the material before I go to class. And after the class I alway recall what I have learnt before I go to bed. I also plan to read at least one question per paper everyday, I do not do it I just read it and think of the answer in my mind. But sometime I also write down the answer if it is difficult and new to me.

What do you think was the most important factor in your success in your ACCA exams?

I think CAT program is the main factor for my success in ACCA. Beside that planning and right study technique also contribute to my success.

How did you find out about OpenTuition and which OpenTuition resources helped you towards your success.

My friend told me. The class note and lecture video from OT also help me when I need more explanation.

Thank you and best of luck in the June 2013 exams!
