4a.33 The following question is taken from the July to December 2015 exam period.
The following spreadsheet shows part of a time series analysis of a company’s sales.
Year Quarter Sales (unit) Four quarter moving total (unit)
2014 1 1,1002 1,700

3 1,900

4 2,300

2015 1 3,100
13,200
2 3,7003 4,100
What is the four quarter centred moving average of sales units for quarter 4, 2014?
? 2,500
? 5,025
? 5,000

Take the average of quarters 3,4 of 2014 and quarters 1, 2 of 2015.
The take the average of those two averages.
Just as I show in my lecture.
(Your printed answer might have calculated it in a different way, but the end result will be the same (and the way I show in the lecture is the most logical and understandable way)).
