Anyone else absolutely pooping it for this exam in September?
I feel like I understand the concepts behind the standards but I’m struggling to explain myself properly and not sure how many marks I’m going to obtain from explaining in my own way. From reading model answers I’m panicking as what’s in those answers isn’t in the text and now I’m wondering whether it’s things I should just know in general or I’m missing something here massively?I feel like I’m working as hard as I can and I’m doing all I can but truthfully am hoping for a miracle in the exam just to get through this.
Any advice appreciated as total meltdown mode is imminent.August 18, 2019 at 7:38 pm #528048I’m also a bit concerned about this paper as i’m sitting it in September for the first time. I feel like i’ve got a good general knowledge of the syllabus but unsure whether its enough to pass. All i know is i want to wash my hands with this paper and mark it off the todo list! If i fail i think another 3 month using the exam kit should be enough for any future sittings but we’ll see. Good luck with the exam.
August 31, 2019 at 10:28 pm #543990Oh gosh yes knowing how to do everything is not the problem for me but knowing definitions and wording the theory is the difficult bit.
Although it feels odd at this stage of acca but I’ve resorted to memorising definitions now. For the last week or so I’m repeatedly writing definitions and testing myself.
Going by the model answers you need to know as much theory as application of the theory. Everyone says don’t forget to apply theory to the scenario. In thinking that’s the more simpler thing to pick out. It’s the theory that’s hard to recognise.
I also can’t always recognise which standards are relevant. Example, did a question today on treatment of long term loan and it just doesn’t occur to me to define cash flows.
Best of luck for next week
