sir when demonstrating commercial acumen should you only limit yourself to the case only or also outside the case where you bring points from the industry e.g if we are talking of a company in the food industry then could we recommend to them things like to automate some of their systems such as ordering,invoicing and etc but not in the case and the professional skill tested is not commercial acumen
I think that ‘acumen’ implies some general business awareness and common sense and it is therefore fair to bring in some knowledge from outside the case. However, should you happen to be an expert in a business sector, don’t start bringing additional specialist points as the marker will not be able to judge them.
