Yes, it is important to write “Question Plan” at the start of EVERY answer and equally important to draw a line underneath your plan … but don’t cross it out!

Yes, because the marker can see that your mind is focussed on answering the question, the whole question and nothing but the question so help you G……

“… and also on marks as well?”

It certainly does make a difference to the professionalism of your answer, so that earns marks

It also assists you in ensuring that you have interpreted the question requirements correctly, so that earns marks

It ensures that you have tackled every part of the question requirements, and so that earns marks

It gives you a solid indication of the number of separate points that you wish to make in your answer so that helps you to allocate your time better over sentence lengths and sentence details, so that earns marks

It enables you to avoid useless duplication within your answers so that saves time, and thus earns marks

It enables you to see where there is a danger of firing all your bullets in answering part (a) of a question and then leaving nothing to shoot in parts (b) and (c). By avoiding that situation you will earn marks
