Hi, may I know what is the difference between audit services, non-audit services and accounting services? I have recently study section 290 and have come across this…so confuse about that…please help me..thanks…ur help will be appreciated 🙂
An audit is the independent examination of and expression of opinion on, the financial statements of an enterprise by a duly appointed auditor in pursuance of that appointment
Any other work carried out by an accountant / auditor is, by default, not audit work and is therefore non-audit work / non-audit services
Non-audit work / non-audit services may be sub-divided into assurance services and other non-audit assignments such as accounts preparation work. But these are clearly not audits because they clearly fail to satisfy the definition that I have given you in the opening paragraph of this response
