Hello Mike.
Up until recently, ACCAs were banned from working in audit firms in Pakistan.
The Lahore High Court ruled that it was unfair to ban those affiliated with ACCA to join audit firms. However, they also ruled that Pakistani CAs should be given priority.
With the prospect of joining audit firms highly limited, even for the three year practical experience needed, would picking P7 as an optional paper be futile?

Are you working currently?
What’s the chance of taking the Pakistani qualification – two strings to your bow?
If it was only recently that the Lahore High Court has changed the ruling and decreed that ACCAs may now be employed in accountancy firms, how is it the case that there are so many Pakistani students studying ACCA?
I find that irreconcilable!
In Pakistan’s major towns and cities, as well as in countries throughout the World, there must be firms representing the Big 4
Are these firms also bound by the High Court’s decree that priority should be given to Pakistani CAs?
Is P7 a sensible option? It is essential if you have any hopes at all of emigrating to the UK and obtaining a practicing certificate. If that appears nowhere in your plans, I suggest that you think about the direction in which your future will take you.
Auditing? Sure, take P7 and keep applying for jobs (combined with studying for the Pakistan CA exams)
Other than auditing? Why take P7 when P4, P5 or P6 may be closer to your destination
OK?
