A point in P7 notes Chpt 1 page 6 last paragraph “a professional accountant in a public practice” what do u mean by that?
July 9, 2017 at 6:23 pm #395117Here’s an extract from the website of “www.insidecareers.co.uk”
“What is public practice?
Public practices provide a variety of accounting and business services to clients. They are accountancy firms that offer fee-paying services, including:
Audit
Assurance
Management Consultancy
Tax
Forensice AccountingA public practice firm’s accountants deal with the accounting and financial needs of a client whilst remaining independent from their client’s staff”
Unfortunately, http://www.insidecareers.co.uk is not so smart that it could avoid two howlers on its webpage!
“Forensice Accounting” should of course be “Forensic Accounting”
and the sentence that follows the list of 5 services offered by public practices suggests that these publicly practising audit and accountancy firms have only one client each:
“whilst remaining independent from their client’s staff” should, I believe, be
“whilst remaining independent from their clients’ staff”OK?
