Hey Mike
Hope your day is going good
So today was my first day at work. I have started work at Crowe Horwath which I’m sure you know is one of the biggest firms.
Now I was wondering when I should do my exams in relation to how much my experience from working in audit would help me in my exam.
So like will I learn enough in 6 months that it would significantly help me in my exam?
Or should I wait a year to do the exam in June next year?
Other relevant info might be:
I am attempting P2 in SeptemberI have just completed F9 and so if I decide to do P7 in June next year I will attempt P4 in December.

You’ll most likely find that the experience you gain as a “new boy” will have little or no relation to P7 ACCA exam
It would possibly / probably help your F8 colleagues but P7? No, not really
For your preparation, acquire for yourself a revision kit / exam kit from one of the reputable publishers and … start reading. Question, answer, question, answer, question, answer, questi ….you get the drift
Read that book three or four times (more if you can face it)
Read examiner’s reports
Read the last 10 technical articles
Read my article on examination technique on the P7 home page
Read the article on examination technique “From a marker’s perspective” also on the P7 home page
Read the course notes – from page 1 to the end it’s only 2 hours (Don’t try to learn, just repeatedly read. You should be able to do that over a week’s lunch times!)
If you do all that, P7 in December is certainly doable
Let me know what you decide because, if you decide to take it in December, I want you to post on this forum again in mid-November for the last part of the advice
(Your P2 September knowledge will help with your P7 studies enormously)
OK?
